The Hawaii Girl’s 18 National tennis team faced long odds in Tuesday’s competition against the Pacific Northwest Team at the USTA National Girls 18 Team Tennis Tournament in Claremont, California .

But despite having to forfeit two matches because of player injuries, the Hawaii Girl’s rallied to take four of five singles matches and completed the feat with a victory in the dual match. All three Hawaii rising seniors clinched victories and the deciding match was closed out by rising Mid-Pacific junior Tristen Bryant-Otake.

Temperatures reached over 100 degrees during Wednesday’s competition, as the Hawaii girl’s took on the Middle States section. Hawaii, again, started behind the 8-ball, forfeiting a single and doubles point because of injury. Mid-States walked away with a sweep.

The team competition wrapped up Wednesday and has provided the top players in the country with excellent match preparation for next week’s USTA National Championship hard court event that will be held in San Diego.
