Seminar helps businesses export products
A free seminar on exports led by John Holman, director of the Pacific for the U.S. Commercial Service, will cover opportunities in growing markets and offer free consultations to attendees.
He will also include an overview of the export process, discuss domestic vs. international selling, preparing to sell internationally, finding buyers and partners worldwide, hot markets, inlcluding China, Korea and Japan and government resources to help business.
The seminar is planned from 3 to 4:30 p.m. July 28 at the Hawaii Innovation Center at Hilo conference room, 117 Keawe St.

HAM radio enthusiasts meet
The Kona Amateur Radio Society will met from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday on the south end of Wawaloli Beach Park at Natural Energy Laboratory of Hawaii Authority.
All members, friends and those interested in amateur radio are invited. Attendees are encouraged to bring an American dish to share during the potluck in celebration of Independence Day.

Friends of NELHA seeks volunteers
The nonprofit Friends of NELHA offers public presentations and tours that focus on cutting edge renewable energy and aquaculture at the Hawaii Ocean Science Technology Park.
Volunteers are needed to greet visitors, share information, facilitate presentations and collect donations. Flexible volunteer hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. weekdays.

Therapeutic horse riding program
seeks volunteers
Therapeutic Horsemanship of Hawaii’s Kona program is seeking volunteers to assist in their program for special needs riders. Volunteers are needed to be horse leaders, sidewalkers and for administrative and barn chores. Volunteer orientation and training will be from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Sunday at Horseplay Equestrian Center.
The program operates from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sundays at Horseplay Equestrian Center in Honalo, mauka of Kona Coffee Villas. Therapeutic Horsemanship of Hawaii-Kona is a nonprofit organization which offers therapeutic riding and equine assisted educational activities and skills to children, youth, and adults with special needs.
