Tropical Storm Delores continues to weaken Friday as the once major hurricane moves over colder waters, forecasters with the National Hurricane Center said.
Delores, located 340 miles southwest of Cabo San Lazaro, Mexico, was packing 60 mph winds and moving toward the west-northwest at 8 mph as of Thursday afternoon. Weakening is forecast to continue and Delores could be downgraded to a tropical depression by Saturday night.
Meanwhile, Tropical Depression Enrique, located about 1,000 miles east of the Big Island, was packing 35 mph winds and moving toward the west at 2 mph Friday morning, forecasters said. Additional weakening is forecast and the storm is expected to be downgraded to a remnant low on Saturday.
Enrique remains in the Eastern Pacific, east of 140 west longitude. Forecasters expect the storm to move within the Central North Pacific Basin, which is where Hawaii is located, on Sunday.
A weak area of low pressure located 700 miles south-southwest of Acapulco, Mexico, is forecast to see some development early next week. Forecasters gave it a 40 percent chance of forming into a tropical cyclone within five days.
Elsewhere in the Eastern Pacific, no tropical cyclone formation is expected during the next five days.
Meanwhile in the Central North Pacific, forecasters continue to watch an area of showers and thunderstorms about 550 miles south of Honolulu. The Central Pacific Hurricane Center says there is a 10 percent of the surface low becoming a tropical cyclone during the coming 48 hours.
Elsewhere in the Central North Pacific, no tropical cyclones are expected through Sunday morning.
The Central North Pacific and Eastern Pacific hurricane seasons continue through Nov. 30.
