Police are investigating the theft of fence posts from county property along the Hamakua Coast.

Police are investigating the theft of fence posts from county property along the Hamakua Coast.

Sometime between 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, and 8:30 a.m. Thursday, July 9, unknown individuals pulled 47 T-rail posts out of the ground and removed them from county property along Highway 19 just on the Paauilo side of mile marker 35, according to the Hawaii Police Department. Each post was 6 1/2 feet long and silver in color.

Police ask anyone with information about this case to call the department’s nonemergency line at 935-3311 or Officer Joseph Passmore at 775-7533.
