Big Island police have located a 22-year-old Honomu man who reportedly escaped officers after being handcuffed.

Big Island police have located a 22-year-old Honomu man who reportedly escaped officers after being handcuffed.

At 5 p.m. Tuesday, police were arresting Dillion Revilla for a firearms offense at Kamaee Falls in the Ninole area when he escaped on foot while handcuffed, according to the Hawaii Police Department.

Revilla was located in Honomu at 5:35 p.m. Wednesday and was arrested on suspicion of escape and three firearms offenses and taken to the Hilo police cellblock while detectives from the Area I Criminal Investigations Section continue the investigation.

At 2:45 p.m. Thursday, he was charged with second-degree escape and three firearms offenses. His bail was set at $37,000.
