Hawaii’s favorite funnyman Augie T. returns to Kona this month to headline the laughs at a special Giggles &Grinds dinner show at the Kona Elks Club on July 17 at 7:30 p.m.

Open to both the public and Elk members alike, the July 17 event will serve as a warm-up for Augie T.’s first annual “Laugh Under The Stars” benefit show to be held at the Waikiki Shell on Aug. 1, as well as an opportunity for those interested in learning more about the Kona Elks Lodge.

Complementing Augie T.’s performance at the Elks Club outing will be a pre-show dinner featuring an entree choice of steak, chicken or fish, served with a salad, potato or rice and dessert, prepared by Elk’s culinary artist Tom Gallo.

“This will be a fun filled evening of hilarious comedy, great food, drink and camaraderie,” said Kona Elks President Joe Reynolds.

A pioneer of the local comedy revival, Augie T. has been performing for audiences in Hawaii, the South Pacific and United States for the past 25 years.

Named one of Pacific Business News’ 40 Under 40, funniest comic in Hawaii by the Honolulu Star-Bulletin and Midweek, and one of Hawaii’s Top 100 Influential Filipinos, Augie T.’s work has been recognized as best comedy show by Honolulu Magazine, topped the DVD sales chart, and won two Hawaii Music Awards and two Na Hoku Hanohano awards.

Most of Augie’s homegrown humor stems from the experiences of his own humble beginnings in Hawaii. So it’s no surprise that he often uses his comedy to inform, inspire and better the community.

Tickets for the show only are are $15 advance and $20 at the door. They can be purchased at Kona Wine Market, Soundwave Music, Kiernan Music and the Elks Club. Ticket holders may also purchase a $15 dinner package at the door. Elk members are eligible for a $25 dinner show package or $10 show only advance and $15 at the door.
