Henry Hickman

Henry Hickman, 66, died June 27, 2015. Born Feb. 21, 1949, in Wichita, Kan., he was a retired lieutenant in the Detective Department of Hawaii Police Department.

Services are planned July 3 on the mainland. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Oak Hills Church, Fredericksburg, Texas, or the charity of one’s choice. Online condolences may be left at fredericksburg-funerals.com.

He is survived by wife, Coleen Hickman of Fredericksburg, Texas; daughter, Jennifer Hickman of Seattle; son, Michael Hickman of San Diego; brother, Ron (Karen) Hickman of Chicago; one aunt.

Richard Chong

Richard Jong Kong Chong, 86, of Hilo died June 26, 2015, at Hospice of Hilo’s Pohai Malama Facility. Born Sept. 4, 1928, in Hilo, he was a retired manager for Yamada Transfer, a retired Army reservist who served during the Korean and Vietnam War, was on the board of directors for Yamada Diversified, a manager for Waiakea Nakoa’s Pop Warner Football, member of the Liquor Commission and member of the Waiakea Pirates Club.

Friends may call at 4 p.m. July 7 at Dodo Mortuary chapel, Hilo for a 6 p.m. service. Graveside committal services will be held at 9 a.m. July 8 at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Family requests aloha or casual attire be worn.

He is survived by sons, Clayton (Edwina) Chong, M.D. of Honolulu, Andrew (Ann) Chong of Hilo; daughters, Sandra (Terry Strack) Chong of Honolulu, Claire (Anthony) Fernandez, Emma Chong, both of Hilo; brothers, Robert (Linda) Chong, Herbert (Sally) Chong, Daniel (Carolyn) Chong, all of Honolulu, Donald (Laverne) Chong of California; sisters, Florence (James) Lee of Texas, Evelyn (James) Makio, Marilyn (Franklin) Goo, both of Honolulu; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Adam Borkowski

Adam Ronald Borkowski, 71, of Milolii died June 22, 2015. Born Jan. 13, 1944, in Philadelphia, he was a retired athletic/physical education director for the Hawaii County Department of Parks and Recreation.

Private services are planned.

He is survived by mother, Doris Borkowski of Moorestown, N.J.; sister, Denise Pettersen of Lonetree, Colo.

Robin Elcock

Robin William Elcock, 77, of Hilo died June 22, 2015, at the Life Care Center of Hilo. Born April 20, 1938, in England, he was a mechanical engineer for Fairchild Fasteners and member of the Friends of the Panaewa Zoo and Friends of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.

He is survived by wife, Margaret Elcock of Hilo; sisters, Julia (Bryant) Matthews of Bristol, England, Patricia Merritt of Anover, England, Christine Williams of Holbury, England.
