Some $25,000 worth of equipment was reportedly taken during a burglary Monday morning at The Nature Conservancy’s Kaiholena Preserve in Ka’u.
Among the items stolen were a 2009 Honda “Big Red” all-terrain vehicle, a green all-terrain vehicle 500, a 2009 Troy flatbed trailer, a compressor, a rifle, a gun, gun safe, and tools. The alleged thieves were seen driving a black Toyota pickup truck, which was described as being between model year 1996 and 2000, that was headed through macadamia orchards toward Pahala, the agency said.
