KAPOLEI (AP) — Officials are investigating three brush fires that burned about three acres along the H-1 Freeway in Kapolei.

Hawaii News Now reports (https://bit.ly/1NoNFgd ) that Honolulu Fire Department officials say they believe that someone intentionally set the three fires.

Fires were reported Sunday morning. The three blazes were about a quarter mile apart from each other next to the eastbound lanes of the freeway.

There already have been several brush fires in the area since the middle of May, when a large blaze came close to several Makakilo homes. Officials say there is a lot of dry brush that could serve as fuel for fires.
