Kamauu to release album July 7
Natalie Ai Kamauu, three-time Na Hoku Hanohano Best Female Vocalist, releases her newest album “La La La La” on July 7.
Kamauu describes the feeling of the album as “traipsing through gardens, kicking up fallen blossoms with the wind in your face. When you can’t find the words to express what you are feeling, when the melody doesn’t make sense at all, and somehow the music takes you there… La La La La.”

Continuing their tradition of blending their unique harmonies, ki hoalu guitar and ukulele, the album is a collection of traditional Hawaiian songs such as “Hilo One” in a medley with William S. Ellis’ “Hula O Makee,” hula standards such as “Pua Ahihi” and several original songs, including one by band member Bobby Moderow (“Spirit of Hawaii”) and another by the award-winning Kumu Hula and multi-Na Hoku Award winner Manu Boyd, who composed “Maunalua He Inoa” especially for them.
