The 171-foot luxury ketch Tamsen was anchored in Kailua Bay the past several days.
The steel-hulled two-mast vessel, constructed by Perini Navi and launched in 2007, accommodates 12 guests in four cabins all with private bathrooms and an owner’s suite. The eight crew are housed in five cabins, each with private bathrooms, according to Perini Navi, a well-known Italian yacht construction company. The Tamsen also features two Pascoe tenders that are semi-sunken and stored on the main deck. It operates under the flag of the Cayman Islands.
According to various news outlets, including the New York Times, the Tamsen is owned by Steve Firestone and family of California.
The vessel departed the bay early Wednesday.
