UH Football tickets on sale
Season tickets for the 2015 University of Hawaii football season are now on sale. Season tickets are available for purchase online at HawaiiAthletics.com, at the Stan Sheriff Center Box Office (Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) or by calling 944-BOWS (2697) during the same hours.
The Rainbow Warriors open the season with a Pac-12 opponent for the sixth consecutive time when the ’Bows host Colorado Sept. 3 at Aloha Stadium. UH will also host non-conference opponents UC Davis (Sept. 19) and Louisiana-Monroe (Nov. 28) along with a competitive Mountain West home slate that includes San Diego State (Oct. 10), Air Force (Oct. 31), Fresno State (Nov. 14), and San Jose State (Nov. 21).
UH enters its fourth season under the direction of head coach Norm Chow, who welcomes five new coaches to his staff – defensive coordinator Tom Mason, offensive coordinator Don Bailey, special teams coordinator Jake Cookus, secondary coach Abe Elimimian and defensive line coach Lance Samuseva.
Hawaii returns 16 starters and 45 lettermen from a season ago, including Phil Steele’s preseason first-team all-MW quarterback Max Wittek and offensive lineman Ben Clarke. On offense, the ’Bows also return their top two receivers in Marcus Kemp and Quinton Pedroza along with 2013 starter Vasquez Haynes, who sat out last season due to injury. Leading returning rusher Steven Lakalaka also returns as well as 2014 starting quarterback Ikaika Woolsey.
Special Olympics looking for coaches
Special Olympics West Hawaii is in need of soccer coaches and bocce ball volunteers.
Experience recommended but not necessary. The season begins June 7. Local area games will be held at Old Kona Airport Park on July 11, and a regional competition will be held in Oahu August 8-9.
The group is always looking for qualified individuals with sports knowledge in: powerlifting, softball, T-Ball, track and field, swimming, bowling, bocce ball, basketball and soccer.

Hapuna Rough Water Swim
The Hapuna Rough Water Swim — presented by Bikeworks Beach &Sport and Academy Masters Swim Team — will be Saturday at Hapuna Beach State Recreation Area.
The race will have a keiki 400-meter swim at 8:15 a.m. and a 1-mile swim to follow. Registration is now open at FLPregister.com/148. There will only be online registration.
No shirts available for athletes registering after May 31.

Annual Nobu Yamauchi Memorial Golf Tourney
The Nobu Yamauchi Memorial Golf Tournament will be held Thursday, Kamehameha Day, at the Hilo Municipal Golf Course with a 7 a.m. shotgun start. Entry fee is $125.
Entry fee includes green fee, cart, par three closest to the pin, team prizes, and lunch at Kim’s at the Hilo Muni. Funds raised will be used for the Nobu Yamauchi RBI travel teams, RBI youth league teams and partial scholarship for RBI players who will be attending college. One male and one female scholarship will be given. The format for the tournament will be two-person RBI Crazy Scramble using 30 percent of the team handicap with two putt maximum.
Team net prizes will be awarded and also a special prize for the best team low gross. The team with the lowest low gross will win two 32-inch Samsung Smart TV’s. The grand prize this year will be a Las Vegas Vacation Package which includes four round-trip airfares and a five-day, four night stay at the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino. This prize will be awarded to the low net team that finishes in 13th place. This is the 13th year of the Nobu Yamauchi RBI Organization. Deadline to enter is Friday.

Konawaena Foundation Golf Tournament
The 10th annual Konawaena Foundation Golf Tournament is scheduled for Saturday at the Makalei Country Club.
Proceeds benefit the Konawaena Foundation, a non-profit, tax-exempt organization in support of higher education programs at Konawaena High School.

Hilo Triathlon registration
Rregistration is open for the second annual Hilo Triathlon.
Returning to James Kealoha Beach Park on July 12, the Olympic-distance race is limited to 500 participants.
The entry fee is $200 for individuals and $100 relay team members, respectively. Registration closes midnight on July 2.
