Violet Camara

Violet K. (Kahawai) Camara, 90, of Hilo died May 20, 2015, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born Jan. 11, 1925, in Hilo, she was a homemaker and member of Hilo Community of Christ Church and Alu Like Kupuna’s Program.

Friends may call at 4 p.m. June 4 at Dodo Mortuary chapel, Hilo, for a 6 p.m. service. Private graveside committal services will be held at a later date. Family requests aloha attire be worn and no flowers.

She is survived by daughters, Gale (Sam) Lee Loy of Oahu, Davelyn (Neki) Kauhi and Caron (Clyde) Tachibana, both of Hilo; son, Bradford Camara of Oahu; brother, Charles Kahawai of Hilo; sister, Geraldine (Ray) Ah Sing of Oahu; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Antone Gomes Jr.

Antone “Tony” Gomes Jr., 83, of Paauilo died May 20, 2015, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Sept. 3, 1931, in Paauilo, he was retired from the former Hamakua Sugar Co. and member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa, Paauilo-Kalopa Kumiai, Paauilo Senior Citizens, Paauilo Pensioners Club and Paauilo Badminton Club.

Friends may call at 6 p.m. June 4 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa for a 7 p.m. Mass. Friends may again call at 9 a.m. June 5 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a noon service. Burial follows at Homelani Memorial Park, Ilima section. Family requests casual attire be worn.

He is survived by son, Timothy (Leialoha) Gomes of Kona; daughter, Roxane (Steven Sr.) Kalilikane of Paauilo; sister, Doris Smith of Arkansas; hanai son, Benjamin (Donna) Aguilar of Kalopa; hanai daughter, Fely (Gino) Pabre of Kona; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.

Arthur Gonsalves

A service for Arthur “Ata” Gonsalves has been scheduled. Friends may call at 8 a.m. June 6 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hawi for a 10 a.m. Mass. A private committal service will be held at a later date. Family requests aloha or casual attire be worn and no flowers.

Lucky Danyluk

Lucky Mark Danyluk, 65, died May 19, 2015. Born July 9, 1949 in Burbank, Calif., he was a promotor in the beauty and entertainment industry for John Paul Mitchell Systems and a surfer.

A private celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

He is survived by brothers, Ron Danyluk of Grants Pass, Ore., Glen Danyluk of Glendale, Calif.; five nieces and nephews.

Freeman Lofton

Freeman “Buckley” Lofton, 62, of Kailua-Kona died March 13, 2015, at Nakamaru Hale in Holualoa. Born June 1, 1952, in Fresno, Calif., he was a computer engineer and owner of AEC Concepts.

Private service were held.

He is survived by mother, Joanna von Behringer of Seattle; brother, Craig (Karen) Lofton of Santa Fe, N.M.; sister, Ramsey (Chris Campbell) Lofton of Albuquerque, N.M.; one niece; one nephew.
