Firehouse Gallery in Waimea will present “Summer Fun” starting Wednesday and continuing through July 17.

Firehouse Gallery in Waimea will present “Summer Fun” starting Wednesday and continuing through July 17.

The gallery invites the public to come see its artists’ creations of fun and activities at our beaches, Waimea’s 4th of July rodeo, or simple pleasures like eating watermelon, and more. All Waimea Arts Council members are local artists inspired by Hawaii Island’s natural beauty. A reception, open to the public, will be held on June 6 from 3 to 6 p.m.

In addition, there will be small solo shows for Terry Bensch, an oil painting and pencil drawing artist; Pat Dinsman, an oil painting, watercolor and photography artist; Marie Kinchla, an oil painting and pastel artist; Anna Sullivan, who works with extra large mixed-medium creations; and award-winning watercolorist Julie McCue.

The Waimea Arts Council is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the arts on Hawaii Island. The gallery is located at the crossroads of Mamalahoa Highway and Lindsey Road in Waimea. It is open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and Sunday; and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.
