Laura Yong
Laura Hing Yuen Lai Yong, 99, of Volcano died March 23, 2015, at her residence. Born Jan. 27, 1916, in Puuehue, Kohala, she was a former hostess for the Volcano House and member of the Volcano and Mountain View Senior Citizen Clubs, Chinese Civic Club, Hawaii Chapter 1 Order of Eastern Star, National Association of Retired Federal Employees and numerous other Masonic affiliations, attended the Kilauea Military Camp chapel until closure and Puna Covenant Church.
Friends may call at 9 a.m. May 9 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 10 a.m. service. Urn committal service and burial will take place at noon May 11. Family requests casual attire be worn and no flowers.
She is survived by children, Lana (Hal) Jones of Geneva, Kingston (Joy) Yong of Dallas, Mahealani (Jack) Yong-Snell of Volcano; sisters, Hing Oi Lim of Aiea, Oahu, Kay Kong of Honolulu; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Charles Isami Kajikawa, 74, of Mountain View died May 3, 2015, at his residence. Born Dec. 4, 1940, in Honolulu, he was a retired civil engineer, member of Puna Hongwanji Buddhist Temple and an Army veteran.
Friends may call at 1 p.m. May 10 at Puna Hongwanji Buddhist Temple for a 2 p.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn.
He is survived by brothers, Melvin (Marie) Kajikawa of Honolulu, Alton (Pam) Kajikawa of Kailua-Kona, Brian Kajikawa of Hilo; sisters, Alma Kajikawa of Honolulu, Evelyn (Wilbert) Lau of Hilo; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Harry Kazumi Matsuoka, 75, of Hilo died April 25, 2015, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Jan. 16, 1940, in Hilo, he was a custodian at Hilo High School, on the road crew for Hilo Coast Processing and a Navy veteran.

Stanley Kogasaka
Stanley Mitsuru Kogasaka, 80, of Hilo died April 25, 2015, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Nov. 8, 1934,in Pepeekeo, he was a retired construction superintendent from the former M. Sonomura Contracting Co., former building construction inspector for the state Department of Accounting and General Services, member of the Taishoji Soto Mission (Kyodan and Kyodan Director) and Fukushima Kenjin Kai and a Korean War Army veteran.

Aileen Nona Capellas Van Gieson, 90, of Hilo died April 30, 2015, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Hakalau, she was a retired school teacher and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo, Hawaii Island Retired Teachers Association, Hawaii State Retired Teachers Association, Hawaii Educational Association, American Association of Retired Persons and Big Island Portuguese Cultural Club.
