No tsunami was triggered by a magnitude-7.2 earthquake that struck Wednesday in the Solomon Islands.

The temblor was recorded at 9:10 p.m. Hawaii time, according to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center. Based on all available data, a destructive Pacific-wide tsunami was not expected and there was no tsunami threat to Hawaii, the center said.
