Hawaii County police are looking for information about a fire that occurred in January in Keaau.

Hawaii County police are looking for information about a fire that occurred in January in Keaau.

At 4:30 a.m. Jan. 29, police and firefighters responded to a report of smoke and flames coming from a house under construction on 25th Avenue between Kaloli and Paradise drives.

Fire personnel arrived and extinguished the flames. Officials estimated the damage to the walls and interior area totals $25,000.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The case is being investigated as first-degree arson, police said.
