An autopsy revealed Tuesday that the death of a 50-year-old woman in the Fern Acres subdivision in Puna was due to a medical condition.
According to a release from the Hawaii County Police Department, an autopsy conducted at Hilo Medical Center revealed that an injury originally observed on the woman’s body by officials was deemed superficial, consistent with a fall to the ground, and did not contribute to the cause of death.
Police originally reported responding officers observed what appeared to be a suspicious injury on the woman after arriving on scene Monday.
