Nearly 1 mile of Old Mamalahoa Highway between Waimea and Honokaa is scheduled to be resurfaced starting Wednesday, the Hawaii County Department of Public Works says.

Nearly 1 mile of Old Mamalahoa Highway between Waimea and Honokaa is scheduled to be resurfaced starting Wednesday, the Hawaii County Department of Public Works says.

Starting Wednesday and continuing through May 13, county crews will resurface approximately 4,910 feet of the Old Mamalahoa Highway. The work, which will require alternating lane closures, begins approximately 1 mile from Lakeland Subdivision and proceeds toward Ahualoa and Honokaa.

Crews will be working from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Roadwork is weather permitting. No roadwork will occur on weekends or holidays.
