KALAHEO, Kauai — Plant prints from the mid-16th century are on display at the National Tropical Botanical Garden for the next few weeks in honor of Capt. James Cook’s first three Pacific voyages.
The Garden Island reports rare finds from Capt. James Cook’s first Pacific voyage, when he discovered the South Pacific Ocean’s Society Islands, will make up the exhibit.
“Plants of the Society Islands” features plant prints that are usually housed in the National Tropical Botanical Garden’s Rare Book Room at the Botanical Research Center. Island residents and visitors can visit the exhibit weekdays until May 22, and on Saturday May 16.
