A Mountain View man was beaten and robbed Wednesday night at the Kurtistown ballpark.

According to a police report, the incident occurred some time between 7 and 8 p.m.

Officials report two men approached a 53-year-old Mountain View man for a cigarette.

The men then proceeded to punch the victim in the face multiple times, hit him over the head with an empty bottle, dragged him into a men’s restroom and continued to assault him, according to police.

According to the police, they took the man’s black bag containing cash and other items and got into a car that had two women and three children inside.

The car drove off in the Volcano direction, police said, and was described as a maroon Honda Accord with a fox racing sticker on the rear windshield and a yellow paint smear on the rear bumper.

The suspects are both described as being in their early-to-mid 30s, between 5-foot-5 and 5-foot-7, and between 215 and 220 pounds.

One was described as Hawaiian with dark skin and short brown hair. He was said to be wearing blue denim shorts, a black tank top and black slippers.

The other was described as local Portuguese with short black hair. He was wearing blue flowered-print surf shorts and no shirt. He had numerous tattoos on his neck, body, legs and arms.

Police are asking anyone with information on the alleged robbers’ identity or whereabouts to call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.

Those who prefer to remain anonymous may call the islandwide Crime Stoppers number at 961-8300 and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
