A magnitude-3.0 earthquake struck Thursday evening near the Kilauea Volcano summit, the U.S. Geological Survey reports.
The earthquake, which had a registered depth of 0.7 mile, was recorded at 9:38 p.m. Thursday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey Hawaiian Volcano Observatory. It was centered 1.1 south-southeast of the Kilauea’s summit and 2.5 miles south of Volcano.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center did not issue an advisory following the temblor.
