Join Na Wai Iwi Ola, under the direction of Kumu Keala Ching, for an evening of Hawaiian music and hula under the stars in South Kohala on May 2.
The show, “Pana Ka Puuwai Hoohahi,” which translated means “Our Hearts Beat As One” gets underway at 4:30 p.m. at the Waikoloa Bowl at Queens’ Gardens. Doors open at 4 p.m.
The evening, which benefits the nonprofit Na Wai Iwi Ola, will feature musical guests Hoku Zuttermeister, Aunty Diana Aki, and The Ladies of Waikui and Konabob. The event is sponsored by KAPA Radio, Fabric and Quilting Delights, Na Wai Iwi Ola Foundation, Lokahi Ke Aloha, Na Wai Ohia, Waimea Music Center, Hooulu Farmers Market, Waikoloa Beach Resort, Queens’ Marketplace, Kona Business Center and C.G. Tees.
Tickets are $20 for general admission and $30 for reserved seating. General admission is located on the lawn, and mats and folding chairs welcome. However, coolers and alcohol will not be permitted.
Na Wai Iwi Ola Foundation is a 501(c)(3) founded to perpetuate the Hawaiian culture and practices through hula protocol and ceremonies, the use and study of the Hawaiian language and by embracing the stories of our kupuna past, present and future.
