Services for Walker “Boy” Panila Kahiwa Jr. 66, of Captain Cook and Milolii will be from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. April 25 at Kahikolu Church and from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. April 26 at Milolii Halau. Scattering of ashes will follow at Milolii.

Lappo Aiti

Lappo Aiti, 53, of Kailua-Kona died April 10, 2015, at Hospice’s Nakamaru Hale. Born Jan. 5, 1962, in Ailuk, Marshall Islands, he was a maintenance man.

Friends may call at 3 p.m. April 25 at Naalehu County Cemetery for a 4 p.m. graveside service. Family requests casual attire be worn.

He is survived by wife, Kiomi Alfred of Kailua-Kona; sons, Linton Kaious of Iowa, Lines Kaious of Kailua-Kona, Allen (Jujel) Langneo of Marshall Islands; daughters, Rosylie (Emil) Edward, Elma Langneo and Emita River, all of Kailua-Kona, Mona Alfred of Seattle; brothers, Brown Kaious, Hilai (Casia) Kaious and Anious (Emily) Kaious, all of Marshall Islands; sisters, Valerie Kaious, Litty (Mui) Alfre and Autry (Meal) Janer, all of Marshall Islands; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Annette Reyes

Annette Kehaulani Maeda Reyes, 71, of Los Angeles, died April 5, 2015. Born Oct. 20, 1943, in Hawaii, she was a retired educator for the Los Angeles Unified School District, served in various leadership roles in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Friends may call at 8 a.m. April 25 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Kohala Ward, at 55-524 Hawi Road, Hawi, for an 11 a.m. service. Burial follows at Hawi County Cemetery. She is survived by husband, Norberto Reyes of Los Angles; sons, Sean (Saysha) Reyes and Kyle (Michele) Reyes of Uath; daughter, Noreen (Stan) Noble of Los Angeles; mother, Rose Maeda of Nuilii, Kohala; brothers, Danny Reyes and Alvin (Anita) of Hilo; sister, Sylvia (Buddy) Hussey of Kaneohe, Oahu; 15 grandchildren.

Madisyn Tamaki

Madisyn “Maddie” Kauanoemaikalani Sakura Tamaki, 8, of Hawaiian Beaches died April 7, 2015, at Seattle Children’s Hospital in Washington. Born in Hilo, she was a student at Keonepoko Elementary and Pahoa Elementary schools.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. April 25 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for an 11 a.m. service. Cremation follows. Family requests casual attire be worn.

She is survived by parents, Takumi and Melanie Tamaki of Hawaiian Beaches; brother, Takumi Tamaki of Hawaiian Beaches; maternal grandparents, Mary and Gerald Allen of Hawaiian Beaches; paternal grandparents, Sharon and Bobby Tamaki of Hawaiian Beaches; paternal great-grandmother, Mary Kuahiwinui of Hawaiian Beaches; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Edward Fergerstrom

Edward “Buddy” “Bob” Edison Fergerstrom, 82, of Hilo died April 11, 2015, at Hospice of Hilo’s Pohai Malama Facility. Born July 2, 1932, in Pepeekeo, he was a retired construction supervisor for Hawaiian Tel; a Navy veteran, koa woodworker and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo.

Friends may call at 8:30 April 27 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hilo, for a 10:30 a.m. Mass. Inurnment follows at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2 columbarium. Family requests casual attire be worn.

He is survived by wife, Patricia Fergerstrom of Hilo; daughters, Patti-Jo (Wallace Tamashiro) Fergerstrom-Tamashiro and Cindy (Fred Palea) Fergerstrom-Palea, both of Hilo; son, Patward (Debbie) Fergerstrom of Hilo; sister, Eleanor (Norman) Wong Chong of Hilo; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several hanai grandchildren and hanai great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Philip Hiapo Jr.

Philip Limahana Hiapo Jr., 59, of Hilo died March 16, 2015, at Hilo Medical Center. He was born in California.

Private family services were held.

He is survived by mother, Gwendolyn Hiapo of Hilo; brother, Jon Hiapo of Hilo; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
