Alaska Airlines topped U.S. carriers in punctuality in February, the U.S. Department of Transportation reports. Hawaiian Airlines came in second.

Averaging an 82.2 percent on-time performance ranking during the month among the nation’s 16 largest carriers, Hawaiian Airlines came in second to Alaska’s 86.2 percent on-time performance during the month, according to the department. Both exceeded the industry average for the month by more than nine percentage points.

February marks the second straight month Hawaiian Airlines, which commonly tops the list, has fallen to second among the 16 carriers.

The department said Thursday that 72.8 percent of domestic flights arrived on-time in February, up from 77 percent in January and 75 percent in December.

The worst record for punctuality in February was held by regional carrier Envoy Air, which saw just more than half of its flights arrive on-time.

About 4.8 percent of February flights were canceled among the carriers, up from 2.5 percent in January. Hawaiian Airlines cancelled 0.1 percent — or three — of its 5,779 scheduled flights canceled, according to the department.
