Hawaii Volcanoes National Park on Tuesday announced upcoming flight plans for the remainder of April through May 7.

Hawaii Volcanoes National Park on Tuesday announced upcoming flight plans for the remainder of April through May 7.

A flight crew will transport fencing material from near the top of Mauna Loa Road to approximately 9,000 feet in elevation on April 8, 10, 20, and 24, between 8 a.m. and noon.

Between 6 and 8 a.m. on April 14 and 23, ungulate surveys and control work will take place in Kahuku between 3,000 and 7,000 feet in elevation.

On April 27 and May 7, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m, flight crews will transport camp supplies and equipment from aiinahou to apua Point, Keauhou, and Halape campsites for guinea grass control and monitoring during the hawksbill turtle nesting season.

The park regrets any noise impact to residents and park visitors. Dates and times are subject to change based on aircraft availability and weather.
