William Kraft

William “Bill” Duane Kraft, 68, of Hilo died March 28, 2015, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Sioux City, Iowa, he was a retired auto mechanic, member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a Vietnam War Army veteran.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. April 9 at St. Joseph Catholic Church for a 10:30 a.m. Mass. Burial follows at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Family requests casual attire be worn.

He is survived by wife, Marilyn Kraft of Hilo; stepdaughters, Mistyanna Zilka of Pinetop, Ariz., Patricia Zilka of Hilo; mother, Dorothy Kraft of Sun City, Ariz.; brothers, George (Mary) Kraft of Alcoa, Tenn., Gerald (Debbie) Kraft and John Kraft, both of Groveland, Calif., Glenn Kraft and Donald Kraft, both of Sun City, Ariz.; sister, Dotty Romine of Sun City, Ariz.; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Shigeo Murakami

Shigeo Murakami, 94, of Hilo died March 21, 2015, at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home in Hilo. Born June 24, 1920, in Pepeekeo, he was a retired senior building inspector for the Hawaii County Department of Public Works and member of the Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin Buddhist Temple and Naniakea Community Association.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. April 9 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 10 a.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn and no flowers or monetary gifts.

He is survived by sons, Glenn (Nancy) Murakami of Chicago, Alan (Wendy) Murakami of Honolulu; daughters, Renee Murakami of Wisconsin, Kathleen (Steven) Iwamoto of Hilo; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; numerous nephews and nieces; one cousin.
