Police and fire officials are investigating the cause of a Wednesday afternoon structure fire in Pahoa.
Firefighters, responding to an 2:24 p.m. alarm, arrived at a home on Pohoiki Road to find the first floor of a two-story home engulfed in flames, the Hawaii County Fire Department said in a prepared statement. They were able to extinguish the blaze by 3:05 p.m.
No one was home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported. Damage to the structure was estimated at $135,000.
