HONOLULU — Firefighters rescued two hikers from a mountainous Oahu trail after they spent the night outside.
The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reports the hikers were rescued from the Olomana Trail on the windward side Saturday morning.
Fire Department spokesman Capt. James Todd says the two women headed out around 5 p.m. Friday and got lost.
Firefighters received a call for help around 10:15 p.m. They briefly looked for the women, who are in their 30s and 40s. But they had to suspend their search until the morning.
Firefighters found the women at 7:17 a.m. and airlifted them out of the trail.
No injuries were reported.
