Alternating single lane closures will be in effect on Mamalahoa Highway, between mile markers 45 and 39.5, in the vicinity of Kapapala Ranch in Kaʻu this week for pavement reconstruction, according to the state Department of Transportation.

Alternating single lane closures will also be in effect on Hawaii Belt Road, between mile markers 10 and 16, between Pepeekeo and Hakalau for roadway improvements, according to the department.

Crews will be working from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and Friday, according to the department. Crews will not be working on Thursday, March 26, in observance of the Prince Kuhio Day holiday. Road work is weather permitting.
