A Captain Cook man was charged with meth trafficking and other offenses after police executed a search warrant at his house Monday.
The search warrant was executed at a home on the 84-1000 block of Bruner Road in Captain Cook, where police recovered 44.1 grams of a crystalline substance packaged in a manner consistent with meth distribution, paraphernalia associated with meth use and sales, an unregistered .22-caliber rifle and $1,221 in cash, according to police.
Police arrested 33-year-old Matthew Cummings at the scene and took him to the Kona police cellblock while detectives from the Area II Vice Section continued the investigation.
At 3:05 p.m. today, detectives charged him with meth trafficking, promoting a dangerous drug, possessing drug paraphernalia and three firearms offenses. His bail was set at $68,000.
He remains at the cellblock pending his initial court appearance scheduled for Wednesday.
