HONOLULU — Honolulu authorities have released the names of a man and woman visiting from Washington state who died after being pulled from the water at a popular snorkeling spot on Oahu.

HONOLULU — Honolulu authorities have released the names of a man and woman visiting from Washington state who died after being pulled from the water at a popular snorkeling spot on Oahu.

Hawaii News Now reports the people who died at Hanauma Bay on Friday were 60-year-old Robert Jones and 55-year-old Jane Jones.

Authorities say a hiker called 911 after seeing the two struggling in the water.

Lifeguards pulled the two to shore, and responders tried to resuscitate the pair, who were pronounced dead at the scene.
