Chamber networking event planned at Hulihee Palace
The Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce invites the public to its monthly networking event, AfterHours, from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hulihee Palace.
This month’s event is co-hosted by The Food Basket and Altres. Attendees link with other businesses while learning about the local business community. Pupu and refreshments will be served. Cost is $15 for chamber members and first-time nonmembers, $30 for repeat nonmembers.

Mayor’s Committee on People with Disabilities meets
A Mayor’s Committee on People with Disabilities meeting will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the ADRC Training Room, 1055 Kinoole St., Hilo.

Stonecroft Women’s Connection meets in Naalehu
North Kohala resident Debbie Trump will share her faith-based story, “I Did It My Way…And It Didn’t Work” during a Stonecroft Women’s Connection luncheon from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at Gilligan’s Cafe in the Discovery Harbor golfcourse clubhouse.
Also, Stonecroft Western States Regional Director Karen Kasser will share new vision for the 26-year-old international ministry.

Beginning bridge lessons offered
The Kona Bridge Club is offering a five-week class that will teach the basics of bridge. Classes are from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursdays beginning this Thursday at the new Kuliana Charter School in the top building of Pottery Terrace, 75-5995 Kuakini Highway.
Playing bridge has been shown to have many positive effects on the mental function of people who learn the game.

Free estate planning workshop offered
Warren Chong, an independent associate with LegalShield, will lead a basic estate planning workshop at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Suite Possibilities, in the Chamber of Commerce Building in Suite 102 in Kailua-Kona.

Tutu’s House programs announced
Robert M. Hinz Jr. will teach a workshop about maximizing Social Security and retirement income from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. Thursday at Tutu’s House in Waimea.
Also, a recycling and composting workshop will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday with Samantha Robinson and Noah Dodd of Recycle Hawaii. Families and beginners are welcome.
