HONOLULU — The Navy has joined a search for a 17-year-old hiker who has been missing in Hawaii for almost a week.
Hawaii News Now reports the “Easyriders” of the Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron joined in the search for Daylenn “Moke” Pua after receiving a request from the Federal Aviation Administration to assist.
The Navy searchers are based in Kaneohe at the Marine Corps Base Hawaii.
Pua, a Big Island native, has been missing on Oahu since the evening of Feb. 27.
The Navy will be searching along the ridge line above the Haiku Stairs.
The area, which also is known as Stairway to Heaven, has an elevation of 3,150 feet.
