SCHOFIELD BARRACKS, Oahu — The Army is hosting a meeting in Waianae this week on a study related to Makua Military Reservation.
The study assesses whether military training at Makua poses a health risk to those who eat limu or seaweed, sea cucumber and octopus caught in the ocean nearby.
It supplements a 2009 report and was completed in response to a federal court order.
Officials will provide a brief overview of the study during the meeting. They will also hold a public comment period.
The meeting will be held at the Waianae High School cafeteria at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Army will accept comments on the study through April 3.
