Walk and talk planned at Waimea Stream Trail
Vivienne Aronowitz, dietitian and certified diabetes educator, will lead a “walk and talk” from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Saturday at Ke Ala Kahawai, the Stream Trail in Waimea.
The walk is held on the fourth Saturday of each month. Participants should be prepared for rain or shine and meet at the nature park behind the Canada France Hawaii Headquarters on Mamalahoa Highway in Waimea.

Senior ID
cards issued
Coordinated Services for the Elderly will issue Senior ID cards for those 60 years old and older Monday through Friday at the Aging &Disability Resource Center in Hilo.
Cards will also be issued from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Walmart in Kailua-Kona, from 9 to 10 a.m. March 9 at Pahala Housing Center, from 11 a.m. to noon March 9 at Naalehu Community Center and from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. March 9 at the Kohala Coordinated Services for the Elderly office. Cards will also be issued from 9 to 11 a.m. March 17 at L. Yoshimatsu Senior Center in Waimea, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 17 at Yano Hall, from 1 to 4 p.m. March 17 at Hale Hauoli Senior Center in Honokaa and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 25 at West Hawaii Civic Center in Building B.

Water commission seeks nominations
The nominating committee for the state Commission on Water Resource Management, also know as the water commission, is accepting applications for one open position on the commission.
The position will begin July 1 and expire June 30, 2019. State law requires that each member have substantial experience in the area of water resource management. Commission members serve a four-year term without pay, although certain expenses such as travel are reimbursed.
Applications and resumes may be sent to: Nominating Committee, Commission on Water Resource Management, 1151 Punchbowl St., Room 227, Honolulu, HI 96813. Applications should be postmarked no later than March 17. Applicants will be interviewed between March 23 and 31.
