Lillian De Morales

Lillian De Morales, 94, of Hilo, died Nov. 24, 2014, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born Oct. 12, 1920, in Waiki, South Kohala, she was a retired housekeeping inspectress for Naniloa Hotel in Hilo and a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo.

Private services were held.

She is survived by daughter, Carol (Leslie) Kanakaole of Hilo; son, Jospeh De Morales of Hilo; brother, Joseph De Morales of Hilo; sister, Irene Pacheco and Betsy Lindinha of Hilo, and Eleanor Ako of Honolulu; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

E. Jean Paterson

E. Jean Paterson, 98, of Pahoa, died Dec. 14, 2014, at her residence. Born March 14, 1916, in Paterson, N.J., she was a homemaker.

Private celebration of life services will be held at a later date.

She is survived by daughter, Emeline Jeanne Paterson; granddaughter, Lisa Albrecht; grandson, Bruce (Tara) Albrecht; great-granddaughter, Caitlin Albrecht; great-grandson, Devin Albrecht.

Satsuki Funai

Satsuki Funai, 95, of Hawaii died Dec. 8, 2014, at a private carehome in Pahala. Born April 4, 1919, in Lahaina, she was a cafeteria helper at Ka’u High School and Pahala Elementary and member of Toho No Hikari/Mokichi Okada Association Hawaii.

Private services were held.

She is survived by sons, Kenneth (Esther) Funai of Hilo and Roy (Karin) Funai of Pahala; daughters, Martha Hoki of Utah and Dora Min of Pahala; brother, Ralph Noboru Shino of Utah; 14 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Takeshi Yonemitsu

Takeshi Yonemitsu, 101, of Hilo and formerly of Naalehu, died Nov. 21, 2014, at the Arzaga Adult Foster Care Home. Born Oct. 20, 1913, in Paauilo, he was retired from the former Ka‘u Sugar Co. and a member of Naalehu Hongwanji Mission.

Private services were held. Family requests no monetary gifts or flowers.

He is survived by daughter, Jan (Melvin) Yokota, of Hilo; brother, Iwao (Alice) Yonemitsu, of Naalehu; sister, June S. Beatty, of Waimea; granddaughter, Joy Yokota, of Prescott Valley, Ariz.; numerous nieces and nephews.

Theresa Miprano

Theresa Punsalan Miprano, 83, of Keaau died Dec. 2, 2014, at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Facility. Born in Hilo, she was a retired pantry worker for the former Hilo Lagoon Hotel.

Private services were held.

She is survived by daughters, Gaye (Kelvin) Chai of Keaau, Tess (Joseph) Tuason of Stockton, Calif.; sisters, Clara Shin of Hilo, Gloria DeJesus of Las Vegas; brothers, Pio (Marlene) Miprano Jr., Adam Miprano, both of Hilo; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Tsuneichi Takahashi

Tsuneichi Takahashi, 91, of Paauhau died Nov. 24, 2014, at the Dela Rosa Foster Home in Honokaa. Born May 29, 1923, in Paauhau, he retired from the former Hamakua Sugar Company as a welder.

Private services held. Family requests flowers and monetary offerings be omitted.

He is survived by daughters, Cindy (Lon) Coronel, Sandy Takahashi, both of Honolulu; sisters, Tsuyuno Watanabe of Hilo, Tsuyuko Tanaka of Honokaa, Tsuya Takahashi of Honolulu; one granddaughter; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Sakiko Miyao

Sakiko Yamada Miyao, 95, of Hilo died Nov. 20, 2014. Born in Hilo, she was a retired deputy director with the Hawaii County Civil Service Department.

Private family services were held. The family requests monetary donations be omitted.

She is survived by sons, Glenn (Amy) Miyao, Cris Miyao; hanai son, John Leite Jr., all of Hilo; seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
