Fire officials are investigating the cause of a Sunday afternoon structure fire in Honokaa.
Responding to the 1:58 p.m. report, firefighters arrived at a two-story home on Kahili Street to find it engulfed in flames, according to the Hawaii County Fire Department. One person was evacuated from the home to a neighbor’s house. No injuries were reported.
Firefighters were able to get the fire under control within about 30 minutes. The fire was declared extinguished at 2:50 p.m.
Damage to the 2,000-square-foot structure was estimated at $200,000.
