HONOLULU — A man acquitted in the death of a friend in an Oahu state park reserve will serve more prison time on other charges.
The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reports 31-year-old Teddy Munet was sentenced Wednesday to serve 10 years for possessing a firearm, drugs and drug paraphernalia.
Munet had earlier pleaded guilty to the charges, which stemmed from his July 2012 arrest in the shooting death of William “Billy” Fallau.
A jury last summer found Munet not guilty of second-degree murder. However, he got prison time on a related robbery charge and for attempted escape while bolting when being taken to court last year for a preliminary hearing. He was re-arrested about 12 hours after going on the lam.
