Clifford Ho
Clifford Noel Kauila Ho, 61, of Captain Cook died Nov. 21, 2014, at Hospice of Hilo’s Pohai Malama Facility. Born Dec. 9, 1952, in Honolulu, he was executive director of Neighborhood Place of Kona, a former father coach and family support worker for Family Support Hawaii, a massage therapist, former owner of Magic Sand Cafe, former executive chef at Keauhou Beach Hotel and Ala Moana Hotel and member of the Statewide Citizens Review Panel for Child Welfare Service and Keoua Honaunau Canoe Club.
Friends may call at 9 a.m. Dec. 6 at Keoua Honaunau Canoe Club Halau for a 10 a.m. service followed by scattering of ashes and lunch. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Hilo, 1011 Waianuenue Ave., Hilo, HI 96720 or Neighborhood Place of Kona, 75-166 Kalani St., Suite 104, Kailua-Kona, HI 96740.
He is survived by companion, Dawn Henry of Captain Cook; sons, Matthew Ho of Santa Rosa, Calif., Giancarlo Vigneri of Portland, Ore.; sister, Jacqeline (Russell) Ho of Benicia, Calif.; brothers, Ronald (Ellen Leilani) Ho of Hilo, Clyde (Brenda) Ho of Keaau; numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins.

Mele Barton
Mele Kaluau Barton, 62, of Kailua-Kona died Nov. 19, 2014, at her residence. Born in Kalaoa, Dec. 12, 1951, she was a sales clerk and interpreter at Kaloko-Honokohau National Historical Park.
Friends may call at 10 a.m. Dec. 6 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2nd ward in Kailua-Kona for a noon service. Burial follows at Kona Memorial Park in Holualoa. Family requests casual attire be worn. Flowers are welcome.
She is survived by husband, Douglas Barton of Kailua-Kona; sons, Kaumana (Vaina) Barton and Kaleokalani Barton, both of Kailua-Kona, Kapono (Rouie) Barton and Lanakila (Laryssa) Barton, both of Murray, Utah, Kuukoa (Ashley) Barton of Waikoloa; daughters, Kuulei (Nick) Harker of Casper, Wyo., Pomai Barton of San Diego; brothers, William Kaluau and John (Charlene) Kaluau, both of Kalaoa, Matthew (Moana) Kaluau of Laie, Oahu; sisters, Hazel Taetuna of Ocean View, Jean (Sam) Ahtou of Honolulu; 15 grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

George Jay
George Louis Jay, 73, of Hilo died Nov. 9, 2014, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired pipefitter.

He is survived by daughters, Ana (Paul) De Mello and Miriam (Shannon) Jay-Cluney, both of Oahu; brothers, Bernard (Alarya) Jay of Arizona, Albert (Tish) Jay of Oahu; two grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Bernard Powers
Bernard “Jim” James Powers, 76, of Honokaa died Nov. 16, 2014, at Life Care Center of Kona. Born Sept. 24, 1938, in Toledo, Ohio, he was a retired carpenter for the former Hamakua Sugar Co., member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa and Hamakua Country Golf Club, a coach for the “Rookies” girls baseball team in Honokaa and an umpire for the Hongwanji Softball League.
Private services were held.
He is survived by wife, Anita Tabac-Powers of Honokaa; daughter, Angelia Elarco of Waimea; stepdaughters, Richelle Carvalho of Utah, Renee (Michael) Sanchez of Waikoloa; four grandchildren; numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins.

Anne Sachie Fukuda, 66, of Hilo died Nov. 11, 2014, at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. She was born in Hilo.
Private services were held. Family requests no flowers or monetary gifts.
She is survived by mother, Hagiko Fukuda of Hilo; brother, Dean (Lorraine) Fukuda of Hilo; sister, Carol (Russell Arikawa) Ginoza-Arikawa of Hilo; numerous nieces and nephews.
