A Puna man has been charged in connection with a burglary committed in June.

On June 10, a Mountain View home was broken into and a sport utility vehicle belonging to a 75-year-old man was removed, according to the Hawaii Police Department. Several items from within the house also were taken.

Police investigation led to the identity of a suspect in the break-in as 21-year-old Johnluke Medeiros of Mountain View. He was arrested Wednesday and charged with first-degree burglary and fourth-degree theft. He was released from police custody Thursday after posting $5,250 bail.

Detectives are still investigating who took the SUV.
