Frank Soares Jr., 63, of Keaau, died Nov. 19, 2014, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired owner and truck driver with B &J Trucking, a member of the Brothers of Hawaii Motorcycle Club and the Classic Cruisers Car Club.
Friends may call at 5 p.m. Nov. 28 at the Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 6 p.m. service followed by cremation. The family requests casual attire be worn and flowers be omitted.
He is survived by sons, Frank (Zhonna) Soares, III and Jamie (Sabrina) Soares, both of Keaau; daughters, Dawn (Lloyd) Saragosa of Mountain View and Kristin (Mario) Valle-Bautista of Keaau; companion, Eloise Rodrigues of Paauilo; stepfather, James Santos of Keaau; brother, Chucky (Dolores) Oliveira of Hilo; sisters, Charmaine (Salvador) Mendoza of California and Carita Soares of Oregon; nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary Ferreira De Rego, 93, of Haina died Nov. 8, 2014, at Hale Hoola Hamakua. Born March 22, 1921, in Paauilo, she was a homemaker and member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa.

Paul Tom Rufo, 80, of Waimea died Nov. 13, 2014, at his residence. Born Nov. 13, 1934, in Croton, N.Y., he was a foreign goods importer, member of St. James Episcopal Church in Waimea, U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Peace Corps volunteer in the Philippines and teacher at Waimea Elementary and Intermediate Schools.

John Rodney Ferreira, 80, of Ahualoa died Nov. 13, 2014, at his residence. Born in Hilo, he was the retired owner of the former Cattleman’s Restaurant in Waimea, former real estate broker, a graduate of Kamehameha Schools and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
