Keith Nagamine

Keith Tsutomu Nagamine, 52, of Holualoa died Oct. 21, 2014, at his residence. Born July 13, 1962, in Honolulu, he was a cultivation lab technician for Cyanotech, member of Mokuaikaua Congregational Church and volunteer for numerous community service organizations.

Friends may call at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 5 at King Kamehameha’s Kona Beach Hotel for a service. Family requests no flowers. Condolences may be sent to the family at P.O. Box 2295, Kailua-Kona, HI 96745.

He is survived by partner, Cynthia Matsumoto of Holualoa; mother, Toyoko Nagamine of Honolulu; sister, Anne (Steven) Oshiro of Wahiawa, Oahu; brother, Gerald (Lynne) Nagamine; numerous nieces and nephews.

Tooru Yugawa

Tooru “Belly” Yugawa, 91, of Hilo, died Nov. 7, 2014, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Feb. 20, 1923, in Hakalau, he was retired from Hilo Coast Processing Co. and was a World War II Army veteran.

Friends may call at 9:30 a.m. Dec. 29 at Hilo Coast United Church of Christ in Honomu for a 10:30 a.m. service. A committal service follows at noon at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. In lieu of monetary gifts or flowers, donations may be made to Hilo Coast United Church of Christ or any other charitable organization.

He is survived by wife, Helen Yugawa of Hilo; daughters, Shelly (James) O’Heron of Honolulu, Linell (George Ellmore) Yugawa of Boston, Arlean (William) Rohde of Brussels, Belgium; sister, Helene Ochi of Honolulu; brother, Megumi Yugawa of Hilo; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Ablando Topenio

Ablando Gayoso Topenio, 69, of Kailua-Kona died Nov. 11, 2014, at Kona Community Hospital. Born Oct. 24, 1945, in Urdaneta, Pangasinan, Philippines, he was a retired kitchen utility worker at the former Keauhou Beach Hotel.

Funeral services will be held at a later date in the Philippines.

He is survived by wife, Zoraida Topenio of Kailua-Kona; sons, Richard (Cynthia) Topenio, Robert (Chikako) Topenio and Renier-Joe Topenio, all of Kailua-Kona; daughter, Maria-Catherine (Iluminado) Caramol of the Philippines; sister, Jenny Topenio of the Philippines; five grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins in the Philippines.

Dewey Sears

Dewey Frederick Sears, 83, of Ocean View died Oct. 7, 2014, at Kona Community Hospital. Born April 24, 1931, in Marion, Ky., he was a professor at Tulane University Medical School in New Orleans.

Private services were held.

He is survived by son, Michael (Carolyn) Sears of Newnan, Ga.; daughter, Sarah (Brian) Harris of Crawford, Texas; two grandchildren.

Sadami Hamamoto

Sadami Yada Hamamoto, 90, of Hilo died Oct. 31, 2014, at her home. Born in Kaiaakea, she was a retired secretary for the University of Hawaii at Hilo and member of the Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin and Buddhist Women’s Association, Home Gardener’s Club, Waiakea Recreation Center Adult Fitness Group and East Hawaii Hiroshima Kenjinkai.

Private services were held. Family requests no monetary donations.

She is survived by sons, Jerry (Jane) Hamamoto and Robert Hamamoto, both of Hilo; daughters, Ann Sayoko (Patrick Kazuo) Lau and Joan (Gregg) Mayo, both of Hilo; six grandchildren.

Marajane Heinold

Marajane Heinold, 88, of Honokaa died Oct. 30, 2014, at Hale Hoola Hamakua. Born Nov. 25, 1925, in Stilesville, Ind., she was a bank teller and homemaker.

Private services will be held.

She is survived by daughter, Jana Troute of Kailua-Kona; brother, Thomas (Cathy) Eader of Indiana; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

Kazue Makino

Kazue Makino, 88, of Keaau died Nov. 12, 2014, at her residence. Born in Kapoho, she was a retired saleswoman at Hawaii Sales &Surplus, worked at Yamada Furniture and was a member of Puna Hongwanji Mission.

Private services were held. Family requests no flowers or monetary donations.

She is survived by companion, Goro Toma of Keaau; sons, Eugene Makino of Honolulu, Vernon Makino of Keaau, Gerald (Carol) Makino of Hilo; sisters, Meuki Amaral and Daisy Kugisaki, both of Honolulu; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
