Kona product Torrey Meister advanced to Saturday’s fourth round of the Reef Hawaiian Pro in Haleiwa, Oahu.

Meister finished second in his heat Friday with a score of 15.90 out of a possible 20, behind Australia’s Matt Wilkinson (17.20). He posted an 8.70 on his first wave and 7.20 the second. Maui’s Dusty Payne finished Round 3 with the highest score, 18.70.

Organizers of the Reef Hawaiian Pro, the first stop on the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing, will reconvene at 7:45 a.m. to assess conditions for a possible 8 a.m. start.

Meister would compete against Keanu Asing of Honolulu, Owen Wright of Australia and Frederico Morais of Portugal.
