Randolphn Miller
Randolph “Randy” Lyle Miller, 73, of Kealakekua died Nov. 11,2014, at Kona Community Hospital. Born May 25, 1941, in Hollywood, Calif., he was a cruise ship greeter for Destination Kona Coast, owner of the former Jose’s Mexican Restaurant, a courtesy van driver for Budget Rent A Car, bartender at Huggo’s restaurant and a former member of the Keauhou-Kona Yacht Club.
A celebration of his life will be held at 11:30 a.m. Nov. 15 at Kailua Pier. Family requests casual attire be worn. Loose flowers are welcome.
He is survived by daughters, Julie Roberts of Seattle, Kim Miller of California; sister, Claudia Porter of Charleston, S.C.; one granddaughter.

Wayne Uta Sr.
Wayne Tui Uta Sr., 45, of Hilo died Sept. 25, 2014, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Nov. 17, 1968, in Honolulu, he was a life skills specialist and member of Haili Christian Church.

He is survived by companion, Carrie Leialoha of Hilo; sons, Wayne (Lile Nau) Uta Jr. of Hilo, Chance Walls-Uta, Chase Uta, both of Pahoa; daughters, Nicole Uta-Halemano and Shanalei Uta-Halemano, both of Hilo, Spice Monteville of Pennsylvania, Shawntay Uta-Halemano of Kaneohe, Oahu; stepdaughters, Pomai Leialoha, Anuhea Leialoha and Nanea Leialoha, all of Hilo; brothers, Albert (Darnel) Uta and Hiram Uta, both of Waianae, Oahu, Potasi Uta Jr. of Arizona; sister, Mabel Uta; hanai sister, Mauna (Tilson) Kekua of Waianae, Oahu; 10 grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Herbert Abe
Herbert Tadashi Abe, 70, of Kurtistown died Oct. 30, 2014, at Hilo Medical Center. Born July 25, 1944, in Hilo, he was owner of Kanake Hawaii, a Vietnam War Army veteran, member of Kurtistown Jodo Mission, Kurtistown Young Men’s Association and former member of the Hilo Jaycees and Lions Club.
Friends may call at 4 p.m. Nov. 15 at Dodo Mortuary chapel, Hilo, for a 5 p.m. service. A graveside committal will be held at 9 a.m. Nov. 17 at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Family requests casual attire be worn.

Toshie Shimose
Toshie Shimose, 95, of Hilo died Nov. 3, 2014, at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born Aug. 31, 1919, in Honomu, she was a retired licensed practical nurse at Hilo Medical Center.
Friends may call at 4 p.m. Nov. 18 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 5 p.m. service. A graveside committal will be held at 9 a.m. Nov. 19 at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 1. Family requests no monetary gifts.

Margaret Aiona
Margaret Aiona, 82, of Waimea died Oct. 30, 2014, at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born Aug. 2, 1932, in Munich, she was a retired Private Branch Exchange operator for the former Sheraton and Outrigger hotels and also worked for Hawaiian Fresh Egg Farm and W.M. Keck Observatory.
Friends may call at 9 a.m. Nov. 19 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 10 a.m. service. Urn committal follows at noon at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Family requests aloha attire be worn.
She is survived by sons, Chang Aiona V and Michael (Julie) Wong, both of Waimea, Milton (Bridget) Wong of Las Vegas, Marshall (Denise) Boyer-Wong of Palm Springs, Calif.; daughter, Madeline (Alton) Arakaki of Oahu; numerous nieces and nephews.

Michael Howard Sylva, 55, of Ocean View died Oct. 28, 2014. Born in Honolulu, he was a mechanic and Army veteran.

He is survived by companion, Carol Christenson of Ocean View; sisters, Tammy (Gilbert) Grance, Loretta (Raymond) Jardin and Annette (Thomas) Vierra, all of Honolulu, Doris Faye of Ohio; brothers, Keoni Sylva of Ocean View, Thomas Sylva of Hilo; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Timothy Papalimu
Timothy Papalimu, 74, of Hilo died Oct. 22, 2014, at his home. Born Dec. 12, 1939, in Hilo, he was a carpenter and general laborer for Hilo Medical Center and Honokaa Hospital and retired director of the housekeeping and laundry department at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center in Hilo.
He is survived by wife, Kathleen Papalimu; sons, Kimokeo Papalimu, Kaulana Papalimu and Shane Kahanaoi; daughters, Rachel Papalimu, Sunsiree (Gary) Palacio and Margaret (Phillip) Gikbay; sister, Ruth Papalimu; brothers, William Abraham and Jack Odani Sr.; numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
