WAILUKU — A woman convicted of stealing from an account set up for the care of her disabled daughter has been ordered to repay a bank nearly $173,000.
The Maui News reports 52-year-old Elizabeth Gentile of Paia made 19 illegal withdrawals from June 2011 to May 2013 from the conservatorship account at Territorial Savings Bank.
Territorial Savings Bank was ordered to repay the money into the account.
Gentile pleaded no contest to 19 counts of forgery plus one count of theft and one of contempt of court.
Prosecutors in a plea agreement agreed not to seek jail time or oppose her request for the convictions to be kept off her record if she complies with court requirements.
