Free line dance lessons offered
A free, six-week line dancing class will be held Thursdays at Kona United Methodist Church on Palani Road begining Thursday through Dec. 18.
Beginning line dancing is from 6 to 7 p.m., a class for more experienced dancers is from 7 to 8 p.m. Participants should wear comfortable clothing and shoes, preferably no new athletic shoes. All ages are welcome.

Talk focuses on groundwater at Kaloko-Honokohau
A ReefTalk from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Kaloko-Honokohau National Historical Park visitor center will briefly describe some of the park’s groundwater dependent cultural and natural resources and explain the process of designating the Keauhou Aquifer System of North Kona as a water management area for groundwater.
Speakers include Jonathan Likeke Scheuer, a consultant helping clients manage environmental conflicts involving cultural, economic and conservation stakeholders, Jeff Zimpfer, environmental protection specialist at Kaloko-Honokohau National Historical Park and Tammy Duchesne, superintendent of Puuhonua o Honaunau National Historic Park and Kaloko-Honokohau National Histpric Park.

County council holds meeting on Waimea District Park

Jewelry artist Sid Nakamoto will demonstrate jewelry design in two sessions for the free North Kohala Public Library adult and teen craft program held at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Nov. 10.
