A second man has been arrested in connection with burglaries Monday at two Hilo businesses, according to Hawaii Police Department.

A second man has been arrested in connection with burglaries Monday at two Hilo businesses, according to Hawaii Police Department.

At 7 a.m. Thursday, Big Island police arrested 19-year-old Justin Yamauchi of Hilo for his alleged role in burglaries on Leilani Street and Kalanianaole Avenue on Oct. 27.

Yamauchi was taken to the Hilo police cellblock while Area I Criminal Investigations Section detectives continued the investigation. At 10:30 a.m. Thursday, he was charged with two counts of burglary, two counts of theft and resisting an order to stop. His bail was set at $7,000. Yamauchi remains at the cellblock pending his initial court appearance scheduled for Friday.

The other suspect, 25-year-old Alexander S. Bacdad of Hilo, was arrested Tuesday and charged Wednesday with two counts of burglary and two counts of theft.
