According to the U.S. Geological Survey, about 71 percent of the Earth’s surface is water-covered, and the oceans hold about 96.5 percent of all Earth’s water. But water also exists in the air, in rivers and lakes, ice caps and glaciers, in the ground and in all living things.
The Firehouse Gallery will also feature a themed exhibit in the back gallery of art based on “Coffee,” in honor of the Kona Coffee Cultural Festival.
The Waimea Arts Council is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the arts on Hawaii Island. The Firehouse Gallery, located in the old Waimea firehouse at 67-1202 Mamalahoa Highway at the main intersection in Waimea, is the council’s most visible project.
