The term of the 3rd Circuit Court Judge Elizabeth A. Strance will expire on March 30, according to the state Judical Selection Commission. Strance, in accordance with Section 3, Article VI of the state Constitution, has petitioned to be retained in office and to be renewed for an additional term. The constitution empowers the commission to determine whether Strance should be retained in office for an additional term of 10 years.
The commission invites interested individuals to submit written comments or fill out an evaluation form on whether Strance should be retained in office for a new term. All written comments and evaluations forms will be kept confidential.
Visit the commission’s website and fill out form JS-P-081, Judical Evaluation Retention Form. Written comments or form JS-P-081 must be postmarked or faxed by Jan. 6 to: Commission Chairwoman Doris M. Ching, EdD, Judicial Selection Commission, State of Hawaiil, 417 S.
